With the help of our Partners, we have created a Resource Guide for community members! This guide is a working list of resources available for Penn Hills residents that Partnership members will update regularly as we become aware of additional resources. This is not a comprehensive list, but we hope that it can help residents find assistance and help other service providers to familiarize themselves with offerings available.

Ruth's Way Inc.

We empower parents and guardians by teaching them, not just advising them. At Ruth's Way, we're dedicated to turning parents into the architects of their daughters' success.


Ruth's Way's Consulting Services for Parents Who Want Their Daughters To Succeed, LLC

Ruth's Way, Inc. is a faith-based, nonprofit organization, and the only existing Achievement Consulting Agency for Adolescent Girls in the world, in which we help female youth ages 10-17 to strategize achievement of their most successful futures possible! 

Penn Hills Library

The Penn Hills Library serves the Penn Hills area and focuses on removing barriers to service wherever possible, prioritizing instead the researching of and responding to community needs. The library’s mission is to empower our community by providing free and equitable access to public spaces, information, and resources

Hebron Community Center

HCC's mission is to provide a safe and inclusive environment where individuals from diverse backgrounds can come together, fostering a sense of belonging and unity. Through a variety of programs and activities, we aim to empower individuals to cultivate their physical, mental, spiritual, and social well-being - to equip individuals to care for themselves and others, making a positive impact on our community.

Auberle

Auberle is an effective, innovative, holistic, and collaborative human service nonprofit serving individuals of all ages in Western PA. We offer services in five main program areas: Workforce Development, Housing, Young Adult Services, Foster Care, and Behavioral Health.



NeighborWorks WPA

NeighborWorks Western Pennsylvania is a non-profit, HUD-approved housing counseling agency providing services across the entire spectrum of homeownership, from homebuyer education to foreclosure prevention. We have been helping our neighbors reach their homeownership goals for more than 50 years.

Allies for Children

Allies for Children serves as a voice for policy and practice changes that improve the wellbeing of children in our community.  Allies for Children works with policymakers, organizations, and other stakeholders at the state and local level. Allies for Children strives to ensure that all children have the opportunities to develop into healthy, educated, and contributing members of our community. 

Rosedale Civic Association

The Rosedale Civic Association, a 501C3 organization, promotes fellowship and neighborly spirit. We believe by working together toward common goals and by communication and socialization, we make our community strong and a wonderful place to live. We endeavor to maintain and enhance the quality of life for all residents of Rosedale.

Parenting Connections (AIU)

The Parenting Connections East Home Visiting Program provides vital services and resources to families with children from birth to kindergarten entry. 

Crescent Hills Civic Association

The Crescent Hills Civic Association was founded in 1935 for the service of the Crescent Hills Community in Penn Hills, Pennsylvania. We believe by working together toward common goals and by communication and socialization, we make our community strong.  We endeavor to maintain and enhance the quality of life for all the residents of Crescent Hills. 

Clothesline

A free clothing store where all are welcome. Women’s, Men’s, Children’s, and Baby clothing available in addition to some shoes and accessories. 

Open every Thursday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at Mt. Hope Church.

The Mentoring Partnership

The Mentoring Partnership advances mentoring in Western PA to ignite community involvement, strengthen programs and empower all youth to succeed in life. We support organizations and caring adults through training, technical assistance and networking.




Jackson & Clark Partners

Jackson/Clark Partners is a Pittsburgh-based company specializing in organizational planning, community development, and civic participation initiatives. We help people make their communities better. 




Gwen's Girls

Gwen’s Girls provides holistic, gender-specific programs, education, and experiences for at-risk children and young adults in Allegheny County. A community-led initiative developed by the Black Girls Equity Alliance (BGEA) that provides access to supports and services to ANY YOUTH, up to age 18, living in Allegheny County, Pittsburgh, PA as a diversion to the Juvenile Justice and Child Welfare Systems.

Cure Violence East

The Cure Violence East team consists of community residents with lived experiences from Wilkinsburg, Homewood, Penn Hills and East Hills who are working daily to interrupt violence.


Center for Victims

Provides services (therapy, advocacy, assistance with victims compensation,  and jail notifications) to victims of crimes and domestic violence, violence prevention and intervention, mediation with Juvenile offenders and their victims. We also have a domestic violence shelter as well as a trauma education exhibit. We conduct trauma education trainings with law enforcement, judges, community organizations, probation officers and school districts.

Community Forge

Community Forge is a nonprofit community center located in Wilkinsburg, PA. There is a daily food pantry, diaper pantry, clothing pantry, and furniture pantry onsite for free access to basic needs and resource coordination for all who need it.

UPMC Family Care Connection

We’re here to support you and your family. We offer personalized visits at your home, our center, a park, or anywhere that’s comfortable for you. Even if you don’t join us for visits, you can still access a variety of helpful services. Need something? Have a question?

Allegheny County

Allegheny County supports the Partnership by sending representatives from both the County Health Department and the County Department of Human Services.

Allegheny Family Network

Through peer-to-peer support, education, and advocacy, we partner with families of children with behavioral health needs to improve their quality of life. 



Reading Ready Pittsburgh

Reading Ready Pittsburgh is a non-profit organization supporting the healthy development of young children by increasing access to books and by encouraging significant family engagement through reading. Reading Ready Pittsburgh offers a variety of literacy programs to the Pittsburgh area's young readers.

Sheep Inc Health Care Center

Sheep Inc Health Care Center is a free medical clinic for people without health insurance.

Take Action Advocacy Group

Advocating for Social Justice, Empowering our communities to know they are the answer, and Promoting Black liberation. 

Pathway to Care and Recovery

Pathway to Care and Recovery is a 24/7/365 Substance Use Crisis Center located in downtown Pittsburgh.  We are one of four Certified Assessment Centers in Allegheny County offering Intake, Assessment and Referrals to treatment for individuals age 14+.  Additionally, Pathway to Care and Recovery offers 14 individual rooms for clients who have completed the assessment process with us and are awaiting admission to a treatment program.

Red Lantern Bike Shop

Red Lantern Bike Shop takes a proactive approach to connecting bicycles to individuals who have limited access to obtaining them.
Our vision is one of refurbishing and redistributing bicycles into underserved populations, including children and those with limited access to transportation.

Penn Hills Community Development Corporation

The Penn Hills Community Development Corporation (CDC) seeks to engage in activities that serve to unite the Penn Hills community and enhance the quality of life for its residents. In fulfilling this mission, they seek to actively promote inclusion of the entire, community, including residents from all neighborhoods, as well as business owners and other community stakeholders.

Advancing Youth Initiative (AYI) Foundation

The Advancing Youth Initiative (AYI) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Penn Hills Charter School of Entrepreneurship (PHCSE) and Dominus High School to help students discover pathways for lifelong success. Our mission is to support the health, welfare, and educational interests of PHCSE, Dominus, and other organizations that share our educational values. We believe that every student deserves access to quality education and resources, and our work is crucial to ensure that no student is left behind.

Renewal Inc.

Renewal, Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals to improve their lives. 
Renewal, Inc. is proud of its growing position in the field of drug and alcohol addiction rehabilitation. Helping people rebuild their lives is our future and the core of our mission and vision, all guiding how Renewal, Inc. approaches its programs and services, and the operations that support them.

African American Leadership Association (AALA)

The African American Leadership Association (AALA) develops and supports African American and minority leaders through programming, mentorship, and strategic consulting services. It focuses on providing exposure, enrichment, and access to leadership opportunities while equipping individuals and organizations to lead collaboratively and drive long-term impact in their communities.

Parkinson Foundation Western Pennsylvania

Provide educational programs, exercise classes and support groups to those affected by Parkinson's. We are also a resource connector for the Parkinson's community. 

Community College of Allegheny County Homewood-Brushton Center

The Community College of Allegheny County prepares students for their career by providing the education needed to obtain the certificate or Associate's Degree from one of our 150+ available higher education programs.

Penn Hills Peace Coalition

Our Focus: To develop and implement initiatives which emphasize violence interruption, healing from gun violence, and addressing the root causes of conflict and violence while creating PEACE within the schools, neighborhoods, and social media of the community members of Penn Hills, East Hills, Wilkinsburg, and Homewood.
